Lois’ Accomplishments Since 2015

In addition to her duties as Vice Mayor of Ponce Inlet, Lois has been appointed to several County, State and National Organizations where she advocates on issues of importance to our community.

Lois is a two time winner of the Florida League of Cities Home Rule Hero Award

Lois was a strong advocate in the passage of Ponce’s Law in 2018. Governor Rick Scott was in Ponce Inlet for the Bill Signing


Lois serves as the Chair of the Advocacy Committee and the 2nd Vice President of the Volusia League of Cities.

  • Advisory Board member 2019 to the present

Ordinances: With Town Council’s unanimous approval, initiated work on:

  • Creation of the Essential Services Board (ESB)  Ordinance 2020-01
  • Alcohol consumption prohibition in our public parks  Ordinance 2018-08
  • Anti-tethering ordinance:  Ordinance 2018-09
  • Modifying current animal welfare ordinances. Ordinance 2020-12

Resolutions: With Town Council’s unanimous approval, initiated work on:

  • Animal Cruelty:  Resolution 2017-03
  • Hunting Bears:  Resolution 2016-07
  • Texting while driving:  Resolution 2017-12
  • Short term rental home rule issue:  2018-15
  • Sea level rise concerns: Resolution 2020-04
  • Support for water compact:  Resolution 2016-14
