This Page is For Dogs & Their Furry Friends

Hello to all my fellow dogs and furry friends in Ponce Inlet. My name is Lilly and Lois is my mommy.
Until recently, we animals had very few protections within the legal system. But thanks to the work of the attorneys and staff at the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF), we are now recognized as sentient beings that can experience pain, fear and anxiety. My Mommy Lois has helped to draft laws and ordinances in Florida to protect us and make sure we have adequate shelter, food and care.
Please tell all of your humans how much Lois loves us and how dedicated she and the other attorneys at the ALDF are to keeping us safe from abuse or neglect.
Lilly’s Story:
My mommy and daddy adopted me from a farm in Virginia. When they saw me at www.petfinder.com they wanted me right away. I needed a special home because I am missing my rear left leg – and boy am I lucky. I live in this beautiful Town and everyone is so nice to me. I am a member of the Ponce Inlet Police Canine Unit. I have my own carriage and so many friends in the neighborhood. I really love Ponce Inlet.

“The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The Animal Legal Defense Fund accomplishes this mission by filing high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, providing free legal assistance and training to prosecutors to assure that animal abusers are held accountable for their crimes, supporting tough animal protection legislation and fighting legislation harmful to animals, and providing resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law.” ** Animal Legal Defense Fund

Before moving to Florida, Lois & Howard flew missions for ARF, a registered 501-C3 charity that rescues adoptable animals from kill shelters and transports them in private aircraft to loving new owners and homes up and down the east coast of the USA. Typical flight legs were from 150-400 miles. We were based in Dutchess County NY [KPOU] and covered an area from Maryland to Maine. Please watch the video below to learn more about this very unique organization.
